About Us

Vision

We support the preparation, training and mentorship of individuals who seek to nurture and inspire the next generations of children and conscious global citizens, rooted in the scientific principles and social mission of the Montessori pedagogy.

Mission

We promote globally-recognised Montessori Training, following the high standards, quality and authenticity of the pedagogy, and the international reputation of AMI (Association Montessori Internationale).

We strive to empower the Montessori community with solid skills and scientific knowledge that will guide their work and inspire compassionate humans, innovative thinkers and lifelong learners. We are dedicated to building a community of individuals that recognize the potential and unique skills of each child, that connect with families in their local environments, and that cultivate intrinsic motivation, independence, social responsibility and global environmental stewardship.

We foster the growth of a community that is rooted in the values of the Montessori philosophy and shares a holistic understanding of human development. These shared principles form a solid basis to disseminate the pedagogy and contribute to functional, equilibrated and peaceful societies.

A Message from our Founder

Inspired by the holistic pedagogy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, I have focused on disseminating the pedagogy in Portugal over the last few years. It is with great pleasure that we begin a new phase for Montessori Education in Portugal. Providing rigorous and authentic Montessori training is the most important foundation to disseminate the pedagogy in our country, with high standards and following the principles set by Association Montessori Internationale, founded by Maria Montessori.

Biographical Sketch: As a Scientist and Educator, Dr. Jorge Beira discovered the depth of the Montessori pedagogy after the birth of his children, and remains fascinated with the natural adaptability of the pedagogy to all facets of human development. As a scientist, Jorge has investigated the development and growth of several species, the interactions between cells and systems - both in health and disease states, such as cancer - and also the influence of the environment and external factors on gene regulation (epigenetics). Jorge has also committed to several science communication initiatives to lay audiences, and has been bringing science to schools for more than a decade -- always attempting to convey complex concepts through simple explanations. After living and working in a number of countries, Jorge values diversity and multiculturalism as a core aspect of a well-balanced education.
